Notat
Meine Malerei ist sehr selbständig. Es kommt immer etwas anderes heraus, als ich mir vorher vorgestellt habe. Ich wollte "so" malen, aber es ging nicht "so". Ich muss mich während einer Aktion Schritt für Schritt von Vorstellungen trennen, muss dann oft zugeben und werde davon überzeugt, dass diese Vorstellungen lächerlich waren. Am Schluss verlangt das Bild von mir, dass ich mich mit ihm identifiziere, dass ich signiere, dass ich es an die Wand hänge und also autorisiere. Wann ein Bild "fertig" ist, scheint das Bild zu entscheiden und nicht ich. Es ist eine sehr aufregende, mysteriöse Tätigkeit.
(Trying a translation: My painting is very independent. It always comes out something different than I had previously imagined. I wanted to paint "so", but it was not "so". During an action, I have to separate myself step by step from my ideas, often also I have to admit that these ideas were ridiculous. At the end the painting requires of me that I identify with it, that I sign it, that I hang it on the wall and thereby I have to authorize it. When a painting is "finished", the painting seems to decide, not me. It is a very exciting, mysterious activity.)
